Sanika Waterproofing specialists were called to conduct a concrete repair and rejuventation test at the Styldrift Mine in Rustenburg.
After an intensive site survey of the concrete water containment structure was conducted, it was noted that there was excessive movement between the pipe penetration and the concrete, thus causing the concrete to crack, spalling to occur and allow the passage of water to penetrate through the container to the exterior of the structure.
This was causing Styldrift Mine unneccessary time and money to constantly fix and maintain the structure.
With Sanika Waterproofing specialists being the approved applicators for Kryton in Southern Africa they were awarded the project to repair the water containment structure using the Kryton Krystol Crack Repair System.
The exterior side wall surface of the container surrounding the pipe penetration and honeycombed area was successfully repaired using Krytons Krystol ™ crack and defective concrete repair system.
The exterior side wall of the pipe penetration was successfully repaired using the Kryton Krystol T1® System.
